Posted 5/16/2017

Residents from River Pines long-term concierge care in Altoona learned about the history of local ski jumping on Thursday night. Dan Matton, a team member of the Flying Eagles Ski Jumping Team and his son Nick, a U.S. Ski Team Member, shared their experiences as ski jumpers including a video presentation of the Flying Eagles Ski Jumping Team. The presenters quickly bonded with Bob Anderson, a resident who had been on the team in the 1950s. Anderson delighfuly recalled his memories as a ski jumper, as the other residents were in awe over his accomplishments. The sweet story was covered on WEAU
