Altoona Healthcare Campus Names Announced

Posted 2/25/2016

The board of directors for Grace Lutheran Communities, an organization with nearly fifty years of experience in the senior care industry, announced the new names for the newest healthcare campus in western Wisconsin.

The new complex being built in Altoona, Wisconsin on north Willson Drive will now be known as Grace Lutheran Communities - Prairie Pointe and Grace Lutheran Communities - River Pines. The names reflect the beauty of the area and the quality of care our friends and neighbors will receive there.

“Prairie Pointe and River Pines are fantastic names which will resonate for decades to come. Our mission is to take care of people in a caring, Christian environment, utilizing new technology and the latest in medical science. Prairie Pointe and River Pines will set the standard of care in the entire state of Wisconsin,” said Grace Lutheran Communities CEO Mike Christensen.

The 18.5 million dollar healthcare campus scheduled for completion this summer will comprise three joined buildings. Prairie Pointe on the north end of the property will offer the latest in rehabilitation and recovery for people after surgery and significant medical procedures in a spa-like environment. River Pines on the south end of the site will offer cutting edge long-term care for today’s seniors who demand a more homelike setting. In the middle of the two buildings will be a large community center, which will host community events of all kinds.

Christensen added, “We built this healthcare campus to provide expanded space for our mission, which is service. We serve people from all walks of life and they deserve the best. Grace Lutheran Communities – Prairie Pointe and Grace Lutheran Communities - River Pines will deliver that and so much more.”

Grace Lutheran Communities has been helping our friends and neighbors in communities all over the Chippewa Valley since 1966. The non-profit organization specializes in rehabilitation, assisted living, skilled nursing, childcare, independent living and adult day services. The foundation also manages senior care facilities for American Lutheran Communities and First Lutheran Foundation as well as the community-owned Pioneer Nursing Home in Prairie Farm, Wisconsin and Heritage of Elmwood Nursing Home in Elmwood, Wisconsin.
