National Nursing Home Week was celebrated at Grace Lutheran Communities in a big way. This year's theme, "Celebrating the Journey", was celebrated as residents at Grace Lutheran Communities - River Pines took the maiden journey on their new trishaw. Grace Lutheran Communities’ interim CEO Randy Bestul was the pilot of the modified rickshaw. Residents were able to enjoy the sunshine with a ride around the campus and ice cream cones.
“They were pleasantly surprised by the experience,” administrator Jennifer Cohen told McKnight’s after the maiden voyage. “They can connect with the outdoors again, being outside and feeling the wind in their hair.
